Company
From tax practice. Translated into software.
L+C Technology is a product studio for tax technology based in Düsseldorf. We develop software for group tax departments – our first product is Pillarworks, the Pillar 2 platform.
Origin
We know Pillar 2 from our own work. From the analysis to the filing.
Our founders come from the practice of LOHR+COMPANY GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft: active in Düsseldorf and Vienna for more than twenty years, around 100 employees, more than 40 of them qualified auditors, tax advisers or lawyers – serving international groups, listed companies and large family businesses.
There, they implemented Pillar 2 several times across the entire process in group engagements – from the scoping analysis to filing the GloBE Information Return with the German Federal Central Tax Office (BZSt).
That work showed where the process gets stuck: data from many sources, figures without a derivation, errors that surface late. That experience is why we founded L+C Technology as an independent software company – to develop software a tax department runs itself.
We develop software for the tax function of corporate groups. Tax logic, data model, computation and interface are developed in-house – at one table, by people who know the obligations of a group tax department from their own work.

From practice to software
Every feature starts with a question. From practice.
This is how we translate: a question a tax department actually asks, the rule that answers it, and the place in Pillarworks where the answer sits.
From practice to software
Three examples, each with a practice question, the rule and the implementation in Pillarworks. First: question “Which countries are covered this year?” – rule: the transitional CbCR safe harbour tests per country, based on the country-by-country report – software: three tests per country, de minimis, simplified ETR and routine profits, result covered or full calculation required. Second: question “Where does this figure in the provision come from?” – rule: computation per jurisdiction under the OECD rule and local law – software: the calculation path and the rule reference sit with the result; “Lock the year” keeps the computation on record. Third: question “Is the return complete before the file is created?” – rule: the mandatory information of the GloBE Information Return as specified by the OECD – software: the XML file is only created once the check of the return runs without errors; otherwise there is the list of open items.
Stance
We say what we can back up. And show where it comes from.
- 01 Wording Evidenced, not promised.
We call results traceable, transparent and reproducible. We make no promises beyond that.
- 02 Tone Statements, not deadlines.
We describe what Pillarworks does today. We describe what lies ahead factually and in context.
- 03 Responsibility People make the decisions.
Software computes, checks and documents. The decision stays with the tax department – including where the AI assistant LuCy explains.
Clear roles
We develop software. Advice remains a separate engagement.

Advice on request
Tax, business and audit-related advice on request – always under a separate engagement that you enter into directly with LOHR+COMPANY.
Neither requires the other. For you this means: software you run yourself – and expertise you can call on. We develop software. Tax advice is provided on request by the expert team of LOHR+COMPANY GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft. Pillar 2 at LOHR+COMPANY (external link, opens in a new tab)
Studio
Pillar 2 is our first product. We are working on two more product lines.
Pillar 2 follows a pattern many tax obligations share: data from several sources, computation, evidence, reporting – every year. We continue to develop for this pattern.
- 01 Pillarworks First product
Pillar 2 compliance for group tax departments: safe harbour tests, provision and GIR XML in one process.
To Pillarworks - 02 SaaS tools In development
For recurring processes of the tax function.
- 03 AI agents In development
For analysis and documentation. The decision stays with the tax department.
